Turning a thrifted tee shirt into an accent pillow

Turning a thrifted tee shirt into an accent pillow

in

I found this adorable "Rescued is my favorite breed" tee shirt at Goodwill and it looked brand new and custom printed. Though I don't need any tee shirts, I couldn't leave it behind.

I don't buy anything from the thrift store that I don't have a clear vision for, that way my sewing space doesn't become overrun with clothing items. This one, though, immediately screamed "pillow" to me.

I happened to also pick up a little mini pillow from the curb the day before, and sanitized it thoroughly in my washing machine. I added an old dog bandana and some scraps from a previously-thrifted dress, and got to sewing!

These were my starting materials.

I decided to make an envelope pillow with velcro on the back so that I could easily remove and wash the cover.

Here's the finished product!

I initially thought maybe I would sell the little pillow, but I think it will be perfect in our school bus tiny house conversion!
